All the products below can be supplied in sheeting, Tubing or bag formation. It can include print or clear, it can be manufactured out of virgin polymer or recycled polymer or a mix of the two. It can be manufactured in a variety of colours ranging from clear through to black. For industry specific products, certain master batch additives will be used.
Tetrethene can manufacture from 30 - 250 microns.

Sheeting and Tubing

AmpaFlex's state of the art manufacturing centre is based in Wadeville. They have 7 blow film extruders which allows them to manufacture in excess of 200 tons of plastic film a month.
The film is tightly wound onto the winders around cardboard cores ensuring consistent flat film
with no tear’s, creases or bulges. The weights of the rolls are made up specifically for clients requirements. These products are mainly used for wrapping finished product that has completed
its manufacturing process and is destined for retail or the end user. A major supply of this product gets supplied into the building and industrial industries.

Deep Embossed Release Films

AmpaFlex is one of a very few select plastic film manufacturers of deep embossed films in South Africa we can emboss the film to achieve four times the input film thickness, this is a sophisticated process that can only be compared with current international standards for Embossed Film.

Embossed film is mainly used in the rubber calendaring process where the melted rubber is wrapped in the embossed film protecting it from contamination and harsh elements, Once transported to the manufacturer they unroll the rubber off the film without any of the film sticking
or melting to the rubber.

Other uses for the embossed film are to wrap and protect products to
ensure non slip and or scratch
IE: Powder coating steel, stainless steel , Aluminium.

In the attached picture is a sample of our Tetrathedron Pattern , this
pattern is what we produce through our embossed machines in order
to manufacture the  deep Embossed films that are required  for Tacky and Synthetic Rubber compounds where release is a critical component of the rubber  manufacturer.


Banana Harvesting rolls

AmpaFlex is one of the largest manufacturers of the Banana blue plastic. This plastic is manufactured under the strictest conditions due to the harsh elements it protects the farmers
Banana harvest from. It is manufactured from a blend of different Polymers and master batches
to ensure the correct make up and UV protection

AmpaFlex's latest product for the banana farmers industry has become a great success. They
have developed pre cut banana sleeves packed in a packet of 50. These sleeves are made out of 100% virgin material they are 25 to 30 % stronger than the previous 50/50 recycled to virgin mix.
They come with a 12 month guarentee and have the date of manufacture on the bags for ease of reference. The bags have been extensively tested with our current client base and have saved them wastage, labour costs and the wastage of cores. The bags are easier to transport and store. They
have a UV protection additive and the best part about it they are priced at a similar price to the previous
recycled roll.

Shrink film

Shrink film or shrink wrap is a material made up of polymer film. When heat is applied it shrinks tightly over whatever product it is covering. The heat can be applied by a hand held heat gun or alternatively can pass through a heat tunnel or conveyer. Shrink wrap is commonly used as a over wrap on many types of packaging example cartons, boxes beverages. Other uses are to stabilise a variety of products when packaging them as one item.

VCI Film/bags (Vapour Corrosion Inhibiter)

AmpaFlex VCI films provide effective corrosion protection to a wide range of metal types. It
combines packaging and protection against corrosion. The VCI film protects the metal part through direct contact and vapour action. The anti-corrosion chemicals volatilize into the surrounding enclosed areas and the released vapour deposits on the metal forming a protective layer on the metal surface. AmpaFlex VCI films are clean & easy to use and suitable for both automatic and manual packing. Once unpacked the metals do not require additional cleaning or degreasing and are ready for immediate use. AmpaFlex only provide mono layer films but have a close relationship with our sister company who handles co extrusion. AmpaFlex polyethylene and VCI master batch blend is the perfect mix to allow the VCI’s chemicals through vaporization to protect against the corrosive effects of moisture and salt.

The pros of using VCI to other protection methods of metal are there is no greasing and degreasing of metals thereby cutting costs on timely labour. It protects the entire product without leaving any parts vulnerable to the harsh elements. The VCI vaporises to all recessed areas of the product.
For some of our customers we also add in a UV stabiliser blended into the film if the products are
left outside or transported long distance. The film has a shelf life of between 6 and 12 months
if used correctly. Try pack clean and dry products only then seal the film well.

Anti Static Films

Materials such as paper, plastic and textile normally contain an equal number of positive and negative charges - that is, they are electrically balanced. Friction can disturb this balance, causing the material to become electrically charged. The level of charge is affected by material type, speed of contact and separation, humidity, and several other factors.
The electrical charge (static) will exert a force on nearby charged objects or a grounded conductor. Among the problems caused by this force are:

  • Dust clinging to product.
  • Product clinging to itself, rollers, machine beds or frames.
  • Materials tearing, jamming, or curling.
  • Film or sheet feeding problems.
  • Hazardous sparks or shocks, causing damage to electronic components during handling.

Charged conductors, like metals, discharge completely when grounded. Insulators, like plastics, do not conduct electricity and cannot discharge when grounded.

Static charge built-up can attract dust onto a food package, which is undesirable aesthetically.
At times, static charge can damage circuit boards in electronics packaging and may cause hazards of fire or explosion in the vicinity of flammable materials.

The static charge may also cause processing problems such as difficulty in winding of films, or the agglomeration of powders during transport. Such undesirable effects can be avoided by using AmpaFlex's anti-static film.
